On making a ruckus in your industry

Seth Godin's blog posts really speak to all the small business owners in America. In his latest post on making a ruckus in your industry, I was
thinking how we at Model Expo are trying to shake up the hobby modeling market. His list below is my daily checklist - trying to make them pay attention!
  • Bring forward a new idea or technology that disrupts and demands a response
  • Change pricing dramatically
  • Redefine a service as a product (or vice versa)
  • Organize the disorganized, connect the disconnected
  • Alter the speed to market radically
  • Change the infrastructure, the rules or the flow of information
  • Give away what used to be expensive and charge for something else
  • Cater to the weird, bypassing the masses
  • Take the lead on ethics
  • (Or you could just wait for someone to tell you what they want you to do)

  1. What happened to offering a good product selection? I refer to your discontinued lined.

  2. Which product line(s) are you referring to? We have a fairly rich line of products covering the various genres of wood & metal model kits, tools, and supplies. From our own internally manufactured model kits (Model Shipways, Model Airways, Model Trailways, Guns of History) to our line of tools and paint, we believe have something for everyone in this area of hobby modeling.
