March 2013 updates on pricing and such

As of March 1st, you may have noticed that we performed price adjustments across the board on our 

Model Shipways, Model Airways, Model Trailways, and Guns of History line of model kits manufactured by us in our facilities in Hollywood, Florida. The decision to modify prices was a very tough decision as we have not significantly changed pricing of our own manufactured kits since 2009. Unfortunately, with the significant increase in costs for raw materials, transportation, and labor, we had to make the necessary adjustments - its a part of doing business. That being said, we remain your best option when it comes to getting the stuff you need and love - ship model kits, tools, and supplies! And, of course, if you see it lower someplace else or have a question, call us at 800-222-3876 and our customer service team will take care of you!

Fortunately, these necessary adjustments have also yielded some continued (and extra) value in your Model Expo experience:

1. We continue to maintain a dedicated Customer Service & Parts team, available via telephone 5 days a week (800-222-3876), or via email / Facebook / Blogs. In fact, you can even email me, the President of Model Expo, and I'll personally see to it that any concern is resolved!
2. We continue to offer an industry-leading guarantee: We will replace defective or missing wooden model kit parts from all Model Shipways, Model Airways, Model Trailways, Guns of History, and certain European suppliers, without charge – not even for shipping.
3. The quality of our packaging has increased through the implementation of newer, single piece "pizza" style boxes that are sturdier and better support the contents of our kits.
4. The quality of our castings have increased due to better sources of metal.
5. The quality of our instructions & plans have increased - especially with all newly released kits. And, we're going back and updating older kits as the opportunity arises.

Model Expo is one of the few manufacturers that continues to release new, fresh, and exciting ship model kits (Confederacy, Longboat, Picket Boat, Pinnace, USF Essex, and more on the way!) - we've proudly serviced this industry for over 35 years and we will continue to be here!
